ghost in the shell

You dragged her out of her shell
You bared her before the cold world
You held her hand through it all
You just left her there
Shivering, cold and hurt

Her shell was a puzzle you had to crack
You said you had done so a million times
Why had she not seen the betrayal then?
Once in was forever in for her
The challenge was complete when the walls fell
And you spat at her as soon as that was done

She would have been fine by herself
Wiping herself clean
But you went back
Told her that was your nature
The naive creature believed you
Bought your lies

Like a fool, she let you in
Because once in is always in for her
You made her feel like a fool
Because once her back was turned,
Took a knife, stabbed her
Then told her it's ok

You left her bleeding there
Probably smiling as you walked away
She wouldn't know what your face looked like
You was all she saw
You didn't even cast a second glance
As you walked away

Hurt, cold and bleeding,
She picked herself up
She builds up her shell again
Determined to make it stronger than before
She fortifies it with indifference and memories of the pain
Her seal this time was absolute
She kicked everyone out
